美国爱荷华州男子威利斯（Paul Willis）日前收到她妹妹在32年半之前寄给他的一张明信片，仿佛这张明信片穿越了时空。但事实上，这是蜗牛邮件（snail mail），走了很久才到达威利斯的家。
现年76岁的威利斯是一名养猪的农夫，他在一生中的大多数时间里都住在爱荷华州。他最近像往常一样在中午时查看信箱，结果发现一张由他妹妹洛维尔（Annie Lovell）在1987年寄出的明信片。
这张明信片上盖了两个邮戳，一个是加州旧金山的邮局在1987年12月18日盖上的，另一个是爱荷华州德梅因（Des Moines）的邮局在2020年4月29日盖上的，而明信片的另一面是洛维尔到大峡谷（Grand Canyon）游玩时所拍摄的照片。

威利斯在收到洛维尔于当年圣诞节前夕寄给他的这张明信片之后，打电话向她致谢，但这张明信片显然晚到了三分之一个世纪。
现年65岁、目前住在加州根恩维尔（Guerneville）的洛维尔告诉CNN说，她这么多年来都没有问过威利斯是否有收到这张明信片。“我不认为我们在这些日子以来谈论过它。我们都假定邮件正常往来。”
而威利斯告诉CNN说，对于这件事，他们都感到很兴奋。这是一件有趣的事情。
至于这张明信片为何迟到这么久？威利斯在致电当地邮局之后有了答案。
当地邮局的一名女性员工告诉威利斯说，受中共肺炎（武汉肺炎）疫情影响，邮局进行了大扫除。她推测说，这张明信片是在德梅因邮局的桌椅和设备因清理而移动之后被发现的。
