UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus is located at 505 Parnassus Ave., near Golden Gate Park. Our hospital and clinics cover almost six blocks, an expanse we share with UCSF’s health sciences schools. Today, our 15-story, 600-bed main hospital is composed of two adjoining buildings. At Parnassus, our clinics are centralized in Medical Building 1 at 400 Parnassus Ave., across from the hospital. Our Emergency Department, which treats about 38,000 patients a year, is located on the east side of the hospital on Parnassus Avenue.
