South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, Inc. (SBAAG) is a single specialty allergy, asthma, and clinical immunology group practice. We have three conveniently located offices in San Jose and Mountain View, California. Each office is located close to a major hospital. The San Jose offices are near O’Connor Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. The Mountain View office is located right behind El Camino Hospital. Please click on the “Contact” tab above for maps and directions. All four physicians in our practice are Board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, and either American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Pediatrics. We see both children and adults with asthma, allergic and immunologic diseases but do not practice general medicine. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of hay fever, asthma, sinus diseases, chronic cough, recurrent infections, hives, eczema, other skin allergies, food allergy, insect allergy, and pet allergy. Serving a culturally diverse Bay Area, we are sensitive to different needs of each of our patient populations. Each of our doctors has special interests such as dermatologic contact allergies, patch testing, food allergy, chronic sinusitis, refractory asthma, aspirin sensitive asthma, and pollen and mold identification and counting. Dr. Xu speaks fluent Mandarin and Shanghainese, and we have staff members who speak Mandarin, Spanish and Tagalog. If you have special concerns, please ask our friendly receptionists so that you may be seen by a doctor who closely matches your needs. Our office manager can also help with any difficult questions you may have. We take most PPO’s and Medicare. We also see patients with HMO insurance through SCCIPA (Santa Clara County IPA) and PMG (Physicians Medical Group of San Jose). If you have HMO insurance, a referral from your primary care doctor is needed before your visit. If you have called and made an appointment, Privacy and Registration forms are available on the “Patient Forms” tab above. For your convenience, they can be downloaded and filled out prior to your visit. We value our interaction with you from your very first call! You will be greeted by a friendly receptionist, who will do her best to help you and schedule your appointments. She will tell you about what drugs need to be withheld if skin testing is needed (for more information, click the “Skin Testing” tab above). She will also go over your insurance coverage with you. We try to avoid using answering machines except sometimes on the Chinese language line or on the billing line when specific persons are not available at the moment. Since we have three offices, please inform the receptionist of the exact location you would like to visit. Allergy Shots and patient visits are given at all three offices. Please click the “Contact” tab above for shot hours. Patient visits are held every weekday at all locations. As an extra bonus, we are also open in the Mountain View office Saturday mornings for shots and patient visits. At South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, we try to provide you with the state of the art allergy care. This is done in an efficient, courteous, and respectful manner. Our doctors were all trained in prestigious institutes. You will find them knowledgable, but also incredibly friendly and willing to listen to you and help you. Our medical staff is made up of registered nurse and medical assistants. Each staff member is an important part of our medical team and contributes to the quality of your experience. Our office staff work hard to make your visit as pleasant as possible by scheduling convenient appointments, fitting in emergency visits, and keeping us on time while greeting you with a smile.
