Waldy’s Pizza located on 800 Avenue of the America’s and it is an interesting pizza place as their pizza is not round it is more of a rectangle served up on a rectangular wooden plank. Pizza is thin and crispy right from a wood fired oven. Waldy’s has an inventive menu with something to for everyone. We ordered the arugula, garlic with sunny side up eggs on large pizza. The pizza was incredibly well done. Love the super thin crust with the artisan shape and clearly wood fired char your can taste. Great balance of sauce and toppings. Lots of choice on the menu so check out their website online for gourmet ingredients they use like wild mushroom and arugula, for example.
We did the take out from the place. Just like any typical NY pizza place, the seating area is small but tables move fast since it isn’t table service.
Strong recommendation and will be a repeat visit; if you’re close to Madison Square Garden/Penn Plaza, this is worth walking the couple blocks to get there.
Tried this for the first time and it was pretty packed during lunch hour even on a rainy day. Normally a good sign for the quality of the food. I was not disappointed with the pizza. I had the small sausage pizza. The crust was nice and thin. The pizza was still pliable even though it was very thin. The sauce had a nice tang to it and wasn’t too sweet. The only issue I had was that the edges of the pizza were a tad over-burnt. For $8, it’s a great option for high quality pizza.
