WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Be the hands-on leader for our hard-working SF-based Accounts Payable team
- Oversee the team’s execution of accurate, timely payment for:
- hundreds of thousands of domestic driver-partners each week via ACH
- hundreds of vendor payments each week
- hundreds of employee expense reports each week
- Drive AP’s deliverables in our monthly accounting close process (including journals and reconciliations)
- Serve as primary escalation point for US-based AP related issues
- Hire and train new team members as needed
- Be metrics-driven in the management of your team’s work, while never losing focus on the human element present in all great teams
- Proactively ensure that AP’s processes evolve as our company scales, specifically with a focus on automation and controls
- Drive innovation, be resourceful and creative to find efficiency
- Represent AP’s needs as we complete our Oracle implementation and future systems implementations
- Drive AP’s needs in ad-hoc projects as required
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 10+ years experience in Accounts Payable and/or Finance/Accounting roles
- Experience at a large company (scale/volume) and a fast-growing tech company (adaptability, hands-on process optimization) is ideal. Experience in a multi-entity structure preferred
- Leadership style and dedication that inspires your team
- Strong understanding of GAAP, allocations, reconciliations, and AP’s role in the monthly accounting close
- Strong Excel, ability to work with large sets of data efficiently
- Thrive under pressure, always get the job done, enjoy our dynamic environment
- Experience with Oracle R12 strongly preferred. Bill.com and Expensify also nice to have
- Empowered, problem-solver attitude. Not only do you get it done in a crunch, but you work proactively with others to build a better process for next time around
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Great communication and people skills – people need to know they will always get clear, accurate information from you
- Excellent eye for detail – balanced with swift execution. We need to do things quickly and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging and this should be a strength of yours
